S.A.I.S.<\/strong> (Societ\u00e0 Agricola Italiana Sementi SPA), based in Emilia Romagna, is a leading company in the production of high-quality seeds<\/strong>.
\nThe company partnered with us to improve the efficiency and performance of its growth chambers, used in the plant pathology lab for plants research<\/strong> and development. The objective was to install custom LED lighting for plants<\/strong> to support seedling development while improving research outcomes.
\nThis case study shows how our growing lights<\/strong> helped transform S.A.I.S.\u2019s facilities by enhancing seedling quality, boosting research accuracy, and increasing LED efficiency<\/strong>. The main objective was to optimize lighting inside controlled growth chambers, where stable humidity and temperature conditions are essential for studying plant diseases<\/strong> and physiological responses. The challenge was replacing traditional neon lamps with more efficient LED lighting lamps<\/strong> that would improve light quality, ensure uniform plants growth<\/strong>, and enhance the reliability of results. The project aimed to provide a consistent LED light spectrum<\/strong> for seedling development while reducing energy consumption. These improvements were critical to ensuring that each chamber supported repeatable, high-quality research conditions\u2014an essential requirement in the study of plants<\/strong> and in developing innovative, resilient crops like tomato, zucchini, pepper, and basil.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Installation description<\/h6><\/div>

We supplied six LED fixtures per growth chamber, covering an area of 13 m\u00b2. In addition to our growth-optimized lighting, we installed white LED lighting lamps<\/strong> for plant inspection tasks, ensuring visual clarity during research procedures. These systems were integrated into S.A.I.S.\u2019s plant pathology lab, where various vegetable species are tested. The customized LED light spectrum<\/strong> supported every phase of plant development and significantly improved energy performance compared to neon lamps. The combination of dedicated artificial light for plants<\/strong> and targeted lighting controls made it possible to enhance both plant physiology and research conditions\u2014confirming the effect of light on photosynthesis<\/strong> in precision-controlled seedling environments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The growth chambers were equipped with our AE32 model, now replaced by the advanced Aquila<\/strong> version. Aquila provides a calibrated, dimmable LED light spectrum<\/strong>, ideal for controlled environments used in plants research<\/strong>. Its uniform distribution and precise intensity control ensure optimal plants growth<\/strong> throughout each cycle, making it perfect for research on plant diseases<\/strong>, seedling vigor, and environmental response. This custom LED lighting<\/strong> solution is highly effective in settings where consistency, performance, and flexibility are key. Thanks to Aquila\u2019s efficiency and adaptability, S.A.I.S. achieved better growing conditions for sensitive seedlings while improving the overall reliability of its scientific studies and greenhouse simulations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
