Biancheri Creazioni is a historic floricultural company based in Sanremo, on the Italian Riviera, known for its long-standing expertise in developing new varieties of ranunculus and anemones. At the core of their work is continuous plants research, aimed at adapting floral genetics to diverse growing conditions. Technical innovation, combined with traditional breeding methods and modern technology, has led to increasingly standardized, high-quality varieties—many of them developed through plant micropropagation.
As part of this approach, Biancheri Creazioni partnered with Ambralight to implement a tailored LED lighting system for in vitro plants, ensuring optimal conditions during the most delicate stages of development within their new growth chambers.

The project

Since the early 2000s, the introduction of plant micropropagation has driven steady expansion at Biancheri Creazioni, leading to the creation of a new laboratory in 2023. The growth chambers feature durable plants shelves, illuminated by our Altair LED lamps. Replacing traditional T8 fluorescent tubes with high-LED efficiency solutions has brought substantial energy savings and enabled remote control of light and temperature—essential for optimizing the in vitro cultivation environment.

Installation description

Based on previous experience with fluorescent lamps, the Altair LED grow lights were selected for their ability to deliver uniform lighting with a wide 120° beam angle. Each shelf receives targeted light thanks to a high CRI (>80) and a carefully balanced LED light spectrum: 27% blue, 43% green, and 30% red, with a color temperature of 6000K. The light intensity is fully adjustable at every level, offering precise illumination for each physiological stage of the in vitro plants, grown on dedicated plants shelves and support structures similar to indoor vertical farming setups.
