The company Solos is producing high quality lettuce for the local market of Bolzano Bozen and the area of Sudtirol. Located at the conjuction between Italy, Austria and Germany, it provides its customers with healthy and fresh vegetables on a regular base.
Starting in an indoor growth chamber on benches, they needed to improve their rooting and vegetative system, before translating them in the greenhouse. In there, plants are floating and growing to the desired size. In the words of Tobias Rautscher, one of the managers:
At Ambralight we chose for this project our AE100 lamps equipped with two very different sets of LEDs. In the indoor chamber our lamps, equipped with individual Osram LEDs, cater to the lighting needs of young plants in need of ideal and stable conditions.
In the main greenhouse instead (see the picture above), Ambralight lamps integrate and complement natural sunlight. Plants can grow throughout the year until they are suitable to be harvested and sold on the market.
The final product is suitable for customer with an eye both on ecology and on superb product.
